The Nineteen Seventy Five

Having changed their name almost more times than I care to count, with their previous names including T H E S L O W D O W N, Drive Like I Do, The Big Sleep and TalkHouse, The 1975 seem to be hitting it big.

Their third 5-track EP, Music for Cars was released last Monday (04.03.13) with their current single 'Chocolate' featuring as the second track.  With the release of this EP, the band seem to have shot into the spotlight with the single being played almost every hour on BBC Radio 1.

Gaining fans from their tours as support band, The 1975 seem to be over-taking fellow Dirty Hit Records band, Little Comets. The 4-piece from Manchester are currently in the States for a series of shows including SXSW and already feature on numerous line-ups for festivals throughout the summer. If you get the opportunity, definitely go and see this band before they start playing huge venues.

If you haven't already purchased their previous EP's, I would high recommend them. Personal favourites of mine include 'You' from the Sex EP and 'Antichrist' from their first EP, Facedown.
All three of the EP's have mixed sound with tracks that would be described as indie pop and others that are more alternate and chilled. Of the three EP's, Facedown is my personal favourite although that may just be because I have had it longer and therefore have had more time to appreciate it.

Why not check all three out and make the decision for yourself!

Little Comets - 'Life is Elsewhere' Album Out!!

So this Monday saw the release of Little Comets' much anticipated second album ‘Life is Elsewhere’.  To coincide with this release they are currently touring the UK supported by fellow Dirty Hit artist General Fiasco.  Their show in Newcastle, at the O2 Academy on Saturday night is set to be an absolute treat, with support from local singer songwriter, Natasha Haws.  (Have a little listen, she's great!)

I think I got a bit side tracked there. Anyway, if you haven’t already bought your copy of Little Comets' new album, it is available for the very  reasonable price of £7.99 on iTunes or if your more for having a touchable copy, why not order directly through Dirty Hit and receive a unique copy signed by the band themselves! Click Here to order!

If somehow you haven’t already listened to what i can only describe as one of my favourite bands ever, they very kindly have put their entire album on YouTube so you can try before you buy. Nice lads eh?
Have a cheeky listen to the first track of the new album. ENJOY!
